A telecommunications network that extends over a large geographic area for the primary purpose of computer networking. Often established with leased telecommunication circuits.

Extends a private network and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if they were directly connected to it. Routed through an encrypted virtual tunnel. Secure and hides IP.
